Privacy Policy
Seattle Door Co. LLC · Last updated October 21, 2026
Seattle Door Co. LLC ("we", "us") owns and operates this site. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who else sees it. We don't sell your personal information.
What we collect
- Contact & service details — name, email, phone, service address, and ZIP code.
- Appointment & opening details — chosen times and the measurements taken at your home.
- Photographs of the work area — our crews photograph each opening before, during, and after the work, to confirm fit, record the condition we started from, support a warranty claim, and supervise our crews. We use them internally only, and we won't publish them or use them in advertising without asking you first and getting your agreement in writing. Tell the crew if there's something you'd rather they didn't photograph.
- Order details — the door and hardware you configured, prices, and order history.
- Sign-in — your Google account email and name, used only to authenticate you.
- Usage analytics — see below.
We never see or store your card number. Payments are processed by Stripe under their own privacy policy.
Why we ask for your ZIP code
We only offer appointment times where an installer actually covers your address, so we check your ZIP before showing availability. If we can't serve it, we record the ZIP code itself — not you — so we know which areas need an installer. That record is a ZIP and a count; it isn't linked to your name or email.
Usage analytics
We record the steps of a visit — pages reached, whether a ZIP was served, whether a
booking or purchase happened — so we can see where the experience breaks down,
including for people who never buy. These records are tied to a random identifier
stored in a cookie (sdc.sid) that identifies a browser, not a person. We
don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't share it with ad networks.
Clearing cookies resets it.
Cookies we set
sdc.auth— keeps you signed in. Required.sdc.sid— the anonymous analytics identifier described above.g_csrf_token— a one-time value Google's sign-in button uses to prevent cross-site request forgery.
Who else sees your information
- Your installation crew — the subcontractor company assigned to your job receives your name, address, phone, appointment time, and the job details needed to perform the work, under a contract that limits its use of your information to the job itself. Your installation contract and warranty remain with Seattle Door Co.
- Manufacturers, suppliers, and carriers — receive what's needed to build and deliver your door, including the delivery address.
- Service providers — Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage), and Google (sign-in).
- Legal — if required by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep messages
Texts, emails, and notes of calls are kept for five years and then deleted automatically — the same period as the photos and records from your job, so a job's whole file ages out together. Ask us and we'll erase your correspondence sooner. We can't delete the order itself, its payments, or its tax records: those we are required to keep.
Retention
We keep order records for as long as needed for warranty, accounting, and tax purposes (generally seven years). Analytics events are kept in aggregate; coverage-gap ZIP counts are kept indefinitely because they contain no personal information.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it — including under the Washington My Health My Data Act and applicable state privacy laws. Email us and a person will handle it. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Text messages and calls
We text you about your measurement and installation only if you ticked the SMS box when you booked. That box is separate from these policies and from your purchase — consent is never a condition of buying anything, and you can leave it unticked and still book. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message and we stop texting you; reply HELP for help, or START to turn texts back on. We record when you opted in, the exact wording you agreed to, and any later opt-out, so that what we can prove always matches what you actually chose. Texting us first counts as consent for us to reply, and it is recorded that way.
We keep a copy of every message we exchange with you — texts, emails, and notes of phone calls — against your customer record, so anyone helping you can see what has already been said. We do not record phone calls. Washington requires every party's consent to record a conversation, and we have not built call recording.
Security
The site is access-controlled, served over HTTPS, and data is stored in AWS. Job photos are held in private storage and served only to signed-in staff and the assigned installer. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who can reach what.
