Cancellation & Return Policy

1. Before you sign
The $49.99 measurement deposit reserves an appointment. You may reschedule or cancel the measurement at any time before it happens; if you cancel before the measurement, the deposit is refunded in full. If your door order proceeds, the deposit is credited toward it.
2. Your three-business-day right to cancel
You sign your order by making its first payment — payment in full on a smaller order, or the 50% deposit on a larger one. For three business days after that, you may cancel for a full refund of everything you have paid for the door and installation.
- Business days are every day except Sundays and federal holidays. The period ends at 11:59 pm Pacific on the third business day after the day you sign; your order page and your receipt show the exact time.
- To cancel, use the Cancel for a full refund button on your order page, or email support@seattledoorco.com before the period ends.
- We do not order your door from the manufacturer, or book an installation crew, until the period has passed.
- We start the refund the moment you cancel. It goes back to the card or account you paid with and usually arrives within 5–10 business days.
- The $49.99 measurement fee comes back too. Cancel inside the period and you owe us nothing, visit or no visit.
Nothing in this policy limits any cancellation right you have under applicable law.
3. After the cancellation period — why cancellation is not guaranteed
When the period ends we order your door. On a paid-in-full order that happens straight away; on a larger order it happens when your 40% progress payment clears. If you change your mind after the period but before we've ordered, ask us to cancel: nothing has been committed, so you get back what you paid, less any cost already incurred that we can't recover.
Doors are custom-configured goods. Once we order your door, the manufacturer/supplier begins building or allocating it, usually within hours — and that commitment is not automatically reversible. When you ask to cancel after that point, we contact them and ask them to release it. They answer one of:
- Released in full — nothing withheld.
- Released, minus a fee — they keep a cancellation or restocking fee.
- Refused — the order cannot be released at all.
Installation scheduling is ours, and we release crew time at no charge to you whenever we reasonably can; a crew already mobilized on the day may be an unrecoverable cost.
Your refund is what you paid, minus anything the manufacturer keeps, minus costs already incurred that cannot be recovered (such as freight already in transit). If the manufacturer refuses, no refund is available on the door and it will be delivered and installed as ordered. We do not front money we have not recovered, and we cannot promise a refund amount before the manufacturer answers.
4. Returns after delivery
Once a door has been delivered, a return requires the manufacturer to authorize it. Many doors — particularly custom sizes, custom finishes, glass, and made-to-order units — are non-returnable, and we will tell you so plainly. Where a return is authorized, a restocking fee usually applies and we arrange collection. The door must be unused, uninstalled, and in its original packaging. Refunds are issued after the door is collected and inspected.
5. Damaged or incorrect deliveries
Inspect your door on delivery. Report visible damage or an incorrect item to us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs. We will pursue a replacement or credit with the manufacturer or carrier on your behalf. This is the one situation where we press hardest — but the remedy available to you is the remedy the manufacturer or carrier provides.
6. Installation problems are warranty, not cancellation
Your door and its installation are one contract with Seattle Door Co. LLC, a registered Washington contractor. If the installation itself is defective, that is covered by our one-year workmanship warranty — we schedule the correction at no charge. You never need to deal with the crew's company: the installation is our contract and our responsibility.
7. Limitation
Our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amounts you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including delays by manufacturers or carriers, or the condition of your existing opening. Nothing here limits our workmanship warranty, any right against our contractor bond, or rights that cannot be limited under Washington law.
8. How to cancel or request a return
Inside the cancellation period, use Cancel for a full refund on your order page — it takes effect immediately. After it, use the Request cancellation or Request a return button, or reply to your confirmation email. We open a case immediately, contact the manufacturer, and show you the answer and the resulting refund on your order page as it develops.
